How to Save Energy and Keep the Heat out with Blinds!
Large windows and even walls of windows are popular choices in most homes today. One of the biggest drawbacks is the scorching summer heat that can quickly turn a well light space into a sizzling sauna. Installing the right kind of blinds can help you save much energy to cool your home, saving you valuable time and money.
Roman Shades – You can block out a lot of light with these shades especially if you get black-out fabric lining. What I love about these shades is that you can choose from a lot of different fabrics, and patterns to match your current décor or to bring some color to your space.

Honeycomb Shades: Installing honeycomb shades on a standard window can reduce the amount of heat entering a room from 22-76%! You can definitely give your air conditioner a break and save on your electricity bills this summer.
Vertical Blinds – Great for large and tall windows since they easily allow you to control the amount of light filtering into a room. Choose blinds that are light colored to reflect the heat rather than absorb it.

Restoring a Charming Victorian Home – Look at the Stunning final Results!
This Gatsby home sure is a stunner! Before purchasing it the homeowners really admired it from a far for many years before moving in. The home is absolutely beautiful and has a very homey and moved-in feel to it. It looks like the perfect home for a new and growing family to raise their children. Lots of space available, tons of natural sunlight and looks very cozy.
What the homeowners fell in love with was the Victorian charm and fancy architecture used, as well as the huge potential it had for renovation. The home underwent an extensive rehabilitation which helped restore it to its original style and greatness. Since there were many details used in the Victorian era, the renovators had to work around them to make the spaces useful and functional.

Park Avenue Apartment Shocks with Stunning Wall Mural
Ever wondered what it’s like to live on Park Avenue? We’ve got a firsthand tour of this stunning apartment with a drop dead gorgeous wrap around wall mural in the dining room. The rest of the home is a little bland for my taste, but the dining room is what really makes it what it is. Here is a tour of the home:
The entrance features a traditional French gilded console and mirror, antique Chinese pots, Empire Setee, and Argentinian alpaca rug. The wall is painted using a special texturizing technique.
Scenic wallpaper mural in the dining room wins my heart over and looks almost hand painted. A French dining table and savonnerie style carpet completes the whole mystic look.
In the living room there are comfortable sofas, an English game table, custom Scagliola table, English white marble mantel, Majolica pots, and more. The empire side chairs are also very one of a kind.
Touring the office you can see the Louis XVI style desk, custom lampshade, Matisse prints, Chinese paint brushes, and Savonnerie style carpet.
The bedroom takes on a whole different theme with bold red accents, modling, space ball chair, a cowhide, and modern lamps.
Another interesting theme going on in the second bedroom. The designer threw in a mix of Western furniture and accessories along with a Lucite chair.
