Inside Coco Chanel’s Apartment at 31 Rue Cambon

Coco Chanel's Apartment

Coco Chanel originally lived at the Ritz in Paris, but had an office where she worked and entertained guests at 31 Rue Cambon. The building which features four floors: the Chanel store, haute couture dressing rooms, her apartment, and then the workshop on the fourth.

Coco’s apartment is a reflection of modern elegance and luxury and has many interesting features such as Chinese lacquer screens which she used as wallpaper, chandeliers with interlocking 5’s and C’s, the famous beige sofa (at the time suede and beige upholstery were unheard of), quilted pillows, gilt mirrors, gold trinkets and decorations all of which had a special meaning to Coco.
