Granny Chic – Who Knew This Would Ever be in Style?
We all have childhood memories of Granny’s house and her perfectly decorated floral pillows, afghan blankets, quilts, tassels, doilies and fringed furniture. Who knew interior designers would take cue from this tacky style and bring it to designer homes throughout America? This style isn’t entirely shabby chic – it’s where shabby chic once originated from. So let’s take a look at some of the good, the bad, and the ugly of Granny chic. What do you all think, would you give it a go?

Jump on the Wagon with Mysterious Gypsy Décor
If you’re a fan of mystic homes with shadowy and dark appearances you may want to look into Bohemian décor with a gypsy edge. Use deep purple upholstering, jewel chandeliers, shimmering curtains, and magical colors like midnight blue for walls, trim and accessories. Oriental fixtures like wall panels and even furniture will give you a well-traveled look. The spaces below all have some sort of charm and fairy-tale ambiance about them; I’m so trying this look!

Coco Chanel’s Living Room Tour
I’ve featured Coco’s apartment before and I just can’t get enough of her effortless and elegant taste of design. I came across some more stunning photos of her place and just had to include them on the blog. My next living room makeover is going to look a little more like this: lots of bookshelves above the sofa, and some extravagant lacquered Chinese screens. Something to dream about!
