Bringing Back the Statement Chair
Every space needs at least one unique chair to make it pop! To turn a cookie-cutter room around by finding an antique chair or bench and re-upholstering it in an vibrant hue or animal print pattern. This easy trick is guaranteed to make heads turn and is one piece of advice interior designers live by. Take a look at these rooms and how a one-of-a-kind chair can instantly transform a bland space. The rooms just aren’t the same without them!

Day Trip to London: Shopping at LoveDay Antiques
My Europe vacation never seems to end! Last week I decided to take a day trip to London and do the one thing I love – antique hunting! I came across an amazing shop in London called LoveDay that showcases modern art and antique furniture dating from the 18th-21st century. You can find just about any high-end antiques for your home ranging from leather chairs, sculptures, and lots of modern art. Their price range is pretty reasonable considering the great condition their pieces are in and the amazing “wow” factor they bring to a space.
Take a look at some of my favorite finds below:
These rare French floor lamps were by far my favorite piece at LoveDay. They both have their original shades and decorative gilt work with swan shaped features. I could really see these two used in a living room on either end of a grand fireplace or on two nightstands in a bedroom.
The cream Chinoserie painted on this Bureau Bookcase was stunning. I can’t get over how gorgeous the gilt ball and claw feet are, a definite must!
I have always wanted one of these clocks in my home! Chinoserie lacquer with Georgian oak makes this beauty even more unique. Having something like this from 1755 really makes it a fascinating piece of furniture.
A William IV mahogany leather chair.
Every home needs one of these side tables in their lobby with a mirror placed right above. This one is made out of marble with brass feet.
I was actually surprised these Edwardian Chesterfield chairs were from 1788! The deep buttons, swept oak legs, and brass castors are definitely coming back in style! Not only are they stylish, they are extremely comfortable and work well in many different room settings.
At LoveDay you will notice they love to support local talent like this bronze stallion designed by Tony Evans. As a young artist having graduated in 2003 from The Wirral Metropolitan College, he already sold many of his works throughout the UK, America, Europe, and the Middle East.
I can’t believe this set of 6 regency dining chairs is only 320 GBP – a total steal!
A 1920’s mahogany dressing table is all I need to complete my French Regency style bedroom. Just gorgeous.
For more antiques, take a look at LoveDay’s online catalog.

The Perfect Parisian Apartment
The French know how to live, and that’s evident through their drop-dead gorgeous sense of decorating. This little apartment in the center of Paris has won my heart over. I love the clean lines, and how everything has been kept classic and simple. There is not too much color throughout, but that’s why the designer decided to make an impact with an oversized work of art in the living room and a sparkling chandelier in the dining room. Take a look:
