Get Ready Now – Exciting Hues for a New Years Home Office Makeover

New Year, new you! Let’s start off 2013 in style with a glamorous home office makeover. Not only are you going to feel better but you will be more productive and focused with your work and life. My home office on the other hand is looking a little glum and needs some quick sprucing up for 2013!

I’m hoping to put together something trendy and sophisticated yet keep it chic and refreshing for next year. I’ve decided to bring in some bright colors that are energetic and lively. The first few things I’m looking to change are my blinds and swapping them for perky orange sheer curtains. I’m making over my ottoman in orange to match and installing some hot gold studs with gold Greek key trim. For some more ideas on making over your own space, take a look at these very do-able home offices below:

Make Your Library Pop with Vibrant Purple Hues

Purple hues have never looked so good when used in unexpected places like your home library or even office. I have always liked “old school” libraries with dark wood paneling and big chesterfield lounge chairs until I saw this modernized version of a funky library.I don’t know if I could really get any serious reading done in this space but it still makes a great place to hang out and read magazines with your girlfriends.

Good complementing colors to an energetic hue like this would be cobalt blue like this designer used in the window treatments, apple green, gold, violet, and black. Try it out!

Dream Bathroom – Everything a Girl Needs

Quit dreaming about your dream bathroom and make it a reality once and for all! This extravagant bathroom may seem a little much, but take some clever inspiration from it and try the look yourself. Read on for some quick tips to get you started:

  • Install a wraparound mirror to instantly make your bathroom look double in size.
  • Have no room for the big oval bench below? Move in a small circular ottoman for the same effect.
  • For more light reflecting material, install mirrors on all of your cupboards and drawers.
  • Keep it sleek by sticking to a bright white color palette with hints of grey, and gold.
  • Display some fashionable sketches in thin gold frames for a small taste of glamor. Pop a small bright fuchsia bouquet for even more bathroom elegance.
  • Check out your local flea market and search for a unique antique tray to display all of your favorite perfumes and jewelry.
  • You can install recessed lighting or try a mini chandelier for a space that really sparkles.
