Featured Home: Back in Time at Oak Alley Plantation

If you are visiting Louisiana you have got to make a stop at the beautiful Oak Alley plantation. This gorgeous mansion is located nearby the Mississippi River, and is famous for its driveway lined with enormous oak trees. Its gracious interiors are so romantic and charming, definitely a house I would love living in.

If you can’t get enough of this look, try hunting for antiques from the 18th century or for look-a-likes made out of solid wood with ornate detailing. Then, give you’re finished look a twist by mixing in modern pieces and using vibrant prints to reupholster your finds.

Gone With The Wind Style Alabama Home

Take a look at this beautiful Kirkwood mansion in Alabama decorated in a classic southern style.  What I love about this historic home is its unique charm and how every room has its own color scheme. Careful detailing throughout the home using moldings, finely carved wood furniture, and luxurious Persian carpets really brings the look together. This is without a doubt a Gone with The Wind dream home.

Southern Historic Home in Alabama

Welcome to a gorgeous historic home Eutaw, Alabama. This home was toured by Emily, a creative blogger who recently took a historical tour in Alabama of grand old mansions, cottages, and the beautiful countryside.

When I saw this home, I immediately fell in love with its elegant charm and sense of class which most homes lack today. I love the historic and antique furniture inside which all creates a cozy and inviting atmosphere that feels like home. What is interesting is that all the walls are kept white, while color is added through lots of Persian carpets, rare China, colorful throws, and bright upholstery.
